That third panel of the first comic just makes it. It's still funny if you remove it, but that panel included just makes it top tier.

Man, I really hate the strips with the kids. It's hard to ignore how this is just Holbrook setting up whoever they're gonna marry in the future and have babies with. And I doubt Holbrook realizes he makes their dynamic entirely self-serving with the prey species latching onto the one predator who can keep them from being eaten by others in Hellworld.

With how slow actual time passes in this comic I don't know how to feel about the idea of this comic still going for another 10+ years

And also that we'd still be reading it

Which adventure was Hap-Atla again?

Starting in May 1950, Val went to Rome to recruit some missionaries, and Hap-Atla, who rules a kingdom in the interior of Scandinavia, attacked Thule. At Aleta's suggestion, King Aguar sent his army to raid the Inner Lands and relied on trickery and just his castle's garrison to win the battle. The storyline starts here if you feel like reading it in last year's thread.

To be fair, it was pretty straightforwardly telegraphed.

Not sure where things go from here, though. I think everybody gets kicked out from the house out back; Bets, for not being supposed to be there, Gunther for lying to his Mom, and the other guy (Les?) for not telling Gunther's Mom, or because she's not comfortable having him live there when Gunther's not.

The archmage of unexpected stinks.

I've been of the opinion that Take it From The Tinkersons is about as bad as anything in here gets, up there with Curtis, so I figured I'd just check to see if the old "Remove the punchline" trick would help it out any. To be thorough I also removed the lovely little curve that indicates they're talking. Overall I'd say mild improvement.

I usually think Tinkersons is pretty decent but I did feel that the quippy punchline in the grill one was forced, yeah.
