Yeah the Brooklyn package would obviously be better for Portland, but would they be willing to screw over Dame like that? Seems unlikely.

Can Miami really offer enough?

I think Miami can take Lillard and Nurk for Lowry and Herro. Toss in as many firsts and swaps as you can (3 +2 maybe? Including JJJ) would seem like a pretty good return all things considered.

Maybe it gets tweaked based on stuff but that seems like a workable base.

If Dame gets traded, it's likely to Brooklyn. Dame even mentioned (when asked) that he liked Brooklyn. Brooklyn can offer:

Whitehead, Clowney, DFS, Dinwiddie, Harris, 2025 PHX, 2027 PHX, 2027 PHI, 2029 PHX, 2029 DAL

They proved they can get usable vets on good contracts so I think it was a good move, even if the experiment fails, since it means that Ant and Jaden are gonna be surrounded by vets who knows how to play and can push them, rather than young guys who are behind them in development.

It's an unfortunate reality that the one and done system puts a lot of guys into that late lottery spot who aren't NBA ready and need significant minutes for a couple years to see if they're gonna develop into useful players. And yeah they could pick high floor low ceiling guys, but you may as well scrounge around the veteran minimum market instead if that's all you're gonna do.

Steph Klay Wiggins Dray Looney was the league’s best 5 man lineup last year by net rating (of any group that played together more than100 minutes).

As long as those 5 are healthy (assuming Dray resigns), that lineup is not changing.

It was moronic bench play that held them back last year. If CP can run the second team for 15 minutes per game and keep the idiots from throwing the ball away every 20 seconds, they might have a chance at one last deep playoff run with this core.

I honestly believe that the rule is there to protect teams from desperate GMs making increasingly long odds trades to try to save their jobs. There's nothing more dangerous to a team's long term success than a GM who's got one more year to turn things around.

The annoying thing with Klay is that it's hard to tell if it's any specific situation/scheduling that's causing a slump, or just his idiosyncratic streakiness. You just have to gamble that he's on a hot streak during the playoffs (or obviate the need for him to be by having KD).

lmao the Buss's don't got it like that anymore compared to some of the owners and ownership groups coming into the league now, who just are stupid dumb rich in a way that the Buss Family is not. Buss's are rich because they own the Lakers, much like the McCaskey Family is rich because of the Bears. They aren't independently wealthy outside of valuation of the team.

Like Ballmer could make it motherfucking rain on draft picks and free agents if he were allowed to operate in a free market. In a way that like the Lakers couldn't, without over extending a bunch.

Especially in loving football. Running Backs get fuuuuuuuucked.

No thanks I prefer parity unless this is going to turn into soccer club style sports poo poo before it all got gobbled up by authoritarians and the Glazers

Edit: and the players should get paid more but I’m not convinced a more free market system is going to result in the players getting more BRI
