If Toyota releases an actual branded land cruiser in the US, if the import taxes (and dealer lead times) are less than the US dealer markup, could you feasibly import one from say, Germany or Spain that meets/exceeds crash/emissions blah blah.

For vehicles under 25 from Canada you need a letter stating that the emissions and safety equipment are identical to the US model. I doubt you could get that from Toyota Germany or Dubai

As mentioned no. It doesn't work like that even with the same model worldwide. Canada is different.

I don't think they're selling the full size LandCruiser anywhere in Europe these days (and even if they did it'd almost certainly be diesel only)

I was meeting up with a salesman for a German marine hardware company in Gdańsk, and we were driving out to a ship in Gdynia. He gave me no end of poo poo because in Germany, a mint green Fiat 500 is the kind of car that "daddy's little princess" gets when she turns 18. Also we were two huge dudes in this tiny car buzzing down the highway at 3500rpm.

Excuse me, Laguna Seca Blue is also amazing.

It is, but Mazda hasn’t offered a Miata (or any other car) in that color for years. That list is Mazda’s currently available colors.

I forgot Ingot Blue, which is still available on some CX-5s, but it’s a very dull medium blue color that’s similar to the very boring Horizon Blue on Subarus.

As long as they're milking every last cent out of these chumps they should charge extra monthly for silver or black paint if they're so desirable.

Is that actually backed by any real world used car sales data? I feel like dull paint increases the speed a used car would sell but that you can get more money for nice colors, you just have to wait for someone who wants it.

No idea on the first question, but to the bit I bolded - it's not worth waiting 2 months or even 1 month to sell one "hot" car when you could just pass off 3 bland SUVs in that same amount of time

Especially because that car is financed on your floor plan so the dealer is paying interest waiting for the right guy to come along, and tying up floor plan dollars that could be used to put cars that sell in inventory. It’s a bad proposition. Plus if someone wants a weird color that bad and is willing to pay MSRP+ they will get a build allocation on most of those high end cars and order it.

I was just in BFE western NY for over a week visiting family, and at the only dealership in town there was a neon green Charger sitting out front sticking out like a sore thumb for 50 grand.

I told my son nobody here is going to buy that loving thing :v:

Also there's an adult film actress named Brooklyn Grey. So you don't have to Google this at work like I just did. :eng99:

I have seen more of these drat things on the road in my lifetime than I could possibly count, I bet it will sell.

I saw a perfectly clean bright green 1st gen neon a couple weeks ago and it made me miss the 90s so much, before the hellscape of stupid loving trucks and SUVs took over the roads and made things so much worse.

The reason I don't think it will sell is because of the area, which is mostly pickup trucks and Subarus lol.

I mean the lot it was on it was literally the only sedan on the lot, 80% of the vehicles were all new pickups, and it was a Ford/Chevy dealer which I thought was pretty odd as well. I have never seen that before and didn't even think that could be possible, a shitload of new Ford and Chevy trucks all on the same lot.

I don't know why Audi makes greens other than their Sonoma Green :

That was literally the color I wanted when I wrapped my car. Fortunately I found a company that makes as close to a replica of it as you can get, even called the same thing.

edit; dang just realized I haven't posted that here (I did in the 'post your own ride' thread but hey)

Acceptably close to Audi's actual paint. Very hard to photograph, at least with a cellphone.

I rented a blue charger last week, and it has to be the worst automatic transmission I have ever driven. Kept searching for gears and downshifting, not double-clutching like it should.

Anyway, that's my review. Also it was too big and the "shaker" hood scoop was obnoxious.
