The story wasn't amazing, but for a solo dev effort I thought the game itself was fun, and the dud crystal system apparently got redone and vastly improved. I dunno, it's worth getting on sale i m o

there's also astlibra which a lot of people are treating like god's gift but the overwhelming majority of positive reviews for it of any substance seem to be solely going off of the nostalgia it invokes in them. that combined with several instances of the creator responding like "this is literally like murdering me and you should reexamine your life" to every negative review is like, lol

I ended up getting Chained Echoes AND FFIX btw, that's what sales are for Also someone recced Yooka Laylee to me for my Banjo-Kazooie-loving daughter and it's 90% off for $4 rn so I snagged that too

My brain is completely Steam sale poisoned. There is a bunch of stuff on sale that I want to play but don't buy because it's over $10, and then I'll pick up any absolute garbage on my wishlist that is $2-$5 and never play it.

Yeah like I'm sure A Hat In Time is good and everything and it's 50% off which is great but I just spent $30 on games for myself and $4 on a game for my daughter and I dunno if I can justify another $15 on top of that when I could just show her Mario Odyssey Or Banjo-Tooie tbh, I've been avoiding it because it killed off Bottles and he was her favorite character but maybe it'd be ok? He's a cartoon ghost right
