They already made perfectly good mobile ports of them so it's baffling they won't do a tiny bit of extra work to put them on Switch.

Also the mobile port of 4 thankfully put party chat back in after they took it out of the DS release which is incredibly hosed up

The mobile versions of the games other than 1-3 that have them look just like the DS/3DS versions I believe so we can’t lose. The mobile version of 4 even has all the party chat that they didn’t translate for the DS for budget reasons so it might be the best version. Not counting the DS fan patch that ripped it from the mobile version and put it back in the DS version I guess, looking forward to trying that one once I finish the mainline series games I haven’t finished yet and start replaying.

Otherwise it's generally the least changed of the DS trilogy, not much new aside from the basic interface/graphics stuff.

I enjoyed it but never played the original to compare. The pacing feels weird because there’s a big stretch in the middle where it’s not clear where to go next and no real guidance so you’re just kind of wandering the world without much story and the encounter rate is high to the point of being annoying sometimes, presumably because of the job system tying advancement to number of fights, but aside from those drawbacks it’s a good DQ.

It's my least favorite because I had to grind at the very end to make everyone a Hero or w/e the busted class is The final boss is hard as hell lol

9 and 6 are the weakest but generally still fun. Just missing a lot of charm of the other games, the cast in 6 is really whack, and 9 has a completely silent cast which is just boring.
