Russian army doesn't really even use forward observers to direct their artillery fire, so this is given. Its also the reason why Russian artillery can shoot some insane numbers of shells per day like 20 000, and do only minimal to medium damage to their enemy because they fire rolling barrages to the general direction of the enemy positions.
