i wouldn't mind seeing another FF or some other game take on the paradigm system. it always felt like a really unique take on adding some action elements to what was otherwise a plain ol' ATB system

FFX, if going by classic FFs, is my favourite FF. Hands down. FFVIII comes incredibly, squeakingly close, and then even closer is FFIX. What a trio of games.

They very much had an attitude of going all in, but in practice, not much has happened. I think they had some NFT stuff in a gacha game, they had one that was sold with a Cloud statue, and then the NFT specific game that they don't really seem to talk about

Live A Live Octopath II Triangle Strategy Remake of Tactics Ogre that is the definitive version of the game. Trials of Mana Saga Frontier remaster Legend of Mana remaster XVI VIIR Front Mission 1 remake with II and III coming later apparently An updated Nier release cause why not? The weird flippy magic game whose name I can’t recall Pixel Remaster collection (overpriced though) Valkyrie Elysium (good combat apparently?) Diofield Chronicle (divisive, but apparently has a cool story though?) Valkyrie Profile on modern platforms thank gently caress, also where’s II? And they divested themselves of their western properties, which I think was a good move. Square is on fire and maintaining a level of rapid output and (generally) very high quality. I think we’re looking at a period similar to the late nineties for them. Also I’m sure I missed a game or three in that list but that’s extremely respectable and that’s just like what the last two years or so? They’re showing their storied IPs, even the ones that won’t necessarily draw heavy profit, the kind of reverence and love they deserve. Considering most western devs are happy to vault that poo poo and cynically cash in ASAP, I’m into this strategy and the bench goes much deeper. Also, they don’t mind tossing out some AA jank and considering how budgets are just inflating constantly ($200 mil for TLoU and Horizon sheesh) then I’m happy to say this tends to yield games we can actually play right the gently caress now, with no live service, no weird gimmicks, just focused games that are trying to do one thing well.
