So what we've learned is that 150 is the sweet spot for getting past a bollard

I was hoping for a speed where the bus kept going unaffected as the bollard carved a perfect bollard-shaped hole down the center of the bus.

I'm no road safety expert but putting a bollard there might make the road less safe instead of more safe. IMO.

It took way too long for me to realize it was a computer simulation, I was about to ask who could afford crashing this many buses

I'm really perplexed by that gif. It's like they couldn't find a guy fat and hairy enough so they just had Carl fill in. edit to clarify: the guy in the gif looks like a very average fellow, and I expect a gif like that to either feature a very fit dude or someone exploitably obese. credburn has a new favorite as of 15:08 on Jul 6, 2023 |

That's Dan from the Slow Mo Guys. He's always the one who does the gun shooting in their videos.

There are a lot of assumptions you're making about the context of this short clip. The video is all in good fun and the Slow Mo Guys rule: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsJGJHkJolI

Why have I had this assumption for like the last six months? What am I thinking of?

The video is all in good fun and the Slow Mo Guys rule: I used to love their videos, but eventually stopped because I got sick of the "BWOoo" slo-mo sound that they use constantly. There's another channel on youtube that does high speed camera stuff, but with ballistics and explosions. Here are a couple gifs from a video they published a month ago filming det cord. Det cord through a ballistic gel prism. Shock tube and det cord wrapped around a ballistic dummy. The shock tube is what you see first, igniting the det cord, which travels about twice as fast. Also, light CW for anyone who is interested in viewing their channel, they use ballistic dummies in their more recent videos that have simulated bones, organs and blood, to show the impact (literally and figuratively) of the bullets or explosions. None of it is real, but it is simulated gore, and may be something some people want to avoid.
