I used to love chronological order but it really doesn't work once you follow more than, like, a hundred people. You're constantly missing good rear end content because you didn't check your feed at the right time. What I need is an algorithm that helps me rank exclusively stuff by people I follow.

considering social media algorithms are based on machine learning using content as input I don't think we can really tell if Threads' algorithm is better or worse than twitter yet, it will probably require a couple days of content to start to really do its thing
