Mantis42 posted:Season 1 has always been basically unwatchable. It's not that long of a season tbf, but who the hell finds Homer doing The Raven funny? I think somebody just likes The Raven and the humour was ancillary. That's season 2 so there's still some weird vibes from the show at times

We need to bring back American Gladiators but with actual gladiators. I want to see a Murmillo behead a guy holding a fishnet and trident live on air. Make all the competitors washed up celebrities so they can go out in a blaze of glory.

I watched through most of x-files season one I liked the one with the dude under the stairs a lot. Scully is kind of inconsistent with how much of skeptic she’s portrayed as through the episodes

As someone who’s only actually watched one episode, What’s the actual ratio of alien conspiracy to monster of the week episodes? there can’t actually be that many of the former considering the 90’s was still firmly syndication era.

I just it's neat to project Americans as suffering from a particular epigenetic condition resulting from their national identity being born of slavery and genocide that it also manifests in celebrity drama is merely a useful segue into the subject

The premis of Cheers season 1 episode 7 "Friends, Romans, Accountants"is that Norm has volunteered to set up a party for the firm he works for and we come to find out part of his job duties are to arrange an escort for his boss to gently caress. The woman doesn't show up so Diane volunteers. The boss gets fresh. Norm wrestles him off Diane and Norm gets fired.

Like 1 or 2 good gags that were dragged down. It was the first bad episode and only 1 of the first 10 we have watched. The rest usually have enough chuckles to paper over dumb premises.

The nice thing about the x-files is even the ridiculous or dumb episodes are still actually entertaining to watch, like the one about the astronaut being haunted by a literal ghost of the Mars face or the one where it turns out the Jersey Devil is a cavewomen

Can't say I'm a fan of the creative liberty to have Napoleon present at Marie Antoinette's execution looking aghast when he would have been at Toulon. He was a Jacobin and from such an early date it's hard for me to read much cynicism into it. Sure he thought the Jacobin leadership was a bit too sanguine but he was also practically a patron of Robespierre's brother by late 1793/early 1794. Maybe this will be like Gladiator where idgaf about all the inaccuracies because the movie owns otherwise.

kolchak is extremely good and though I haven’t watched it in nearly ten years I remember it holding up really well and sort of vaguely appreciating the non serialized, no annoying meta plot structure I’m watching eastbound and down right now and it’s funny but between this and righteous gemstones I think there should be a special handler for Danny McBride specifically to stop him from doing too many “characters in a montage or walking around in slow motion to music” sequences
