Unrelated, I got a survey email about the game and I love that it starts with "PLEASE PROMISE YOU WON'T TALK ABOUT THIS WITH THE OTHER KIDS IN CLASS! YOU PROMISE TO NOT TELL? Ok, so Twist Mode, you think she's hot, right? And those rewards, mirite?"

cards all look okay but I hate when they do this "here's a package stick all of it in and there's your deck" thing

I get this, but before they tried this their philosophy was “here’s some random cards that may or may not be enough for a deck and that we may or may not support in the future. Hope they’re good enough” which is hardly better. At least this way the new mechanics have a certain amount of infrastructure built in.

So fun fact? If the card that the Victim's Spectre quest reward gives you causes a minion summoned by Bassgill to get tripled, that golden minion will stay locked and cannot be played or summoned by Bassgill until a full combat has passed.

Yeah that very much killed me.

The Plague theme looks cool, but the fact that gets completely hosed by Steamcleaner, a card that’s already pretty common in E.T.C. bands and is easy to discover if Mech decks have a resurgence, is kind of lame.

I not entirely a fan of Plagues being an extremely strong/game winning grind tool, so honestly I'm glad the counter card exists already. Plus Steam Cleaner will rotate before hand so there might be the chance to see full power Plagues (maybe, unless they make Skulking Geist core set or something).

I kind of think Plagues are nuts tbh, but it's an Unholy DH archtype for the most part so ehhh should be fine?

The best set review is always the live one done by Feno, Jambre and Hunterace but it's also like 5 hours long every time lmao

I got this title for free due to my proximity to an idiot who wanted to save $5 on an avatar by having someone else spend $9.95 instead.
Just found out something fun. When Pozzik dies, the two mechs get summoned even if they aren’t in the opponent’s hand. He has Finley’d them to the bottom of the deck but when Pozzik died, they got summoned. Judging from his emotes he was as surprised as I was!

I have the "play 5 golden minions in battlegrounds" quest for the event. In 2 games, I have played three (3) (!!!!) golden minions because the game barely offered me what i was going for even though I was seemingly the only one going for that minion type. Extremely cool, thanks game

That’s exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for. My favourite back in the day used to be Amnesiac, Muzzy and chakki. Firebat had a YouTube podcast with a couple of other people that used to do good set reviews too.

I enjoy BG while I've got some good music on and an adult beverage in hand. It's enough engagement for my brain to be entertained but not too much concentration. It's a nice mental cooldown after a long day of thinking.

That said, I've been playing the casino mage below and having a blast. It's not anyways a winner in my hands, but it's chaotic as gently caress.

Who has time for 5 hours?? I might look at Vicious Syndicate's preview but the usually the meta & true power levels becomes clear after a week or so.

Death Knight is really fun to play as but rarely fun to play against. Which is pretty accurate to anyone that cared about PvP back in WoTLK I guess.

A spec like Blood DK being as popular as it is makes the game a lot less fun for me.

It's funny that Blood is getting basically nothing in Titans. Didn't they say something about different expacs focusing on different runes?

Blood Death Knight has the same issue as Control Priest and Control Warrior at their worst, in that it feels like it's nothing but board wipes and removal with no active win conditions, so it feels bad to play against even if it isn't overpowered and has an overall positive effect on the meta. Blood has only been truly top-tier for a couple of weeks at most, but when you lose to it it feels like everything you could have possibly done was absolutely pointless, so it feels more oppressive than it really is.

I'm not sure there's a solution to this that satisfies everybody... there's a contingent of players who hate any attempt to push archetypes for those classes that aren't classic "kill everything and win by attrition" control, and I think we'll probably see the same reaction when Blizzard inevitably tries to do other things with Blood. And you do want there to be some control decks in the meta, to keep things from being race-to-the-bottom damage races.

Firebert
Aug 16, 2004
Once discover comes into the picture, control becomes a lot less healthy. I'm fine playing against control warrior now and in the past because I know I can go in when they use their brawls. I have no idea what bullshit priest and dk have generated at any time.

This is the fundamental problem with modern hearthstone. It’s inherently unfun when your opponent can generate 10-20 extra cards that never started in their decks and could be anything.
