just remembered when the governement made bomb uranium in downtown saint louis and then tricked the saint louis airport into taking ownership of all the waste from it and for decades arrivals landed next to a massive airport-adjacent property stuffed with radioactive barrels until they sold it to private companies that salvaged the spicy metals and put the rest into a creek and gave a whole generation of kids at a school there cancer.

The last bag holder waste corp got fed up waiting to dump and mixed hundreds of tons of high grade waste with millions of tons of the topsoil he excavated of his storage property until it matched background radiation and then dumped it in a public landfill

The US army loved testing poo poo on unsuspecting citizens. They released 'mild' pathogens into the NY subway system to observe it's spread and deduce the best way to disperse germ weapons through public transport. They discovered if you dump the payload behind a train as it's leaving the draft it pulls through will spread your payload through the whole station getting on everyone. Hitting a few high traffic stations you could infect nearly the entire working population of a city.
