Yeah, it's independent from the subscription revenue, and it's supposed to encourage people to make more content that creates ad revenue. But obviously it also encourages gaming the system with bots and mlm like schemes, also I bet the way the rewards are handed out is very, very scammy.

Why would they give that up? Besides it's much easier to tear down the works of others rather than build up something for yourself they don't really have any incentive to sincerely support conservative art.
