GDOT will put in the full crosswalk infrastructure at an intersection miles from anything because it's part of their SOP, but they're simultaneously incapable of designing a street that's actually pedestrian friendly

we just had someone visit us who rented a car through Turo which is apparently like Airbnb for cars. and, just like Airbnb, there are folks who just own dozens of cars strictly for the purpose of renting them on Turo (where they expect you to clean and wash it before returning it?) I wonder why stock of new cars is so low.

I don't know if Turo is nearly as common as Air BnB because Turo (at least originally) was catering to people to rent out their exotics and luxury cars. With stuff like Zipcar, renting normal cars is much cheaper than it used to be now, so you need to be renting out something special. Vehicles are definitely more of a scam/theft risk too. If anyone is really trying to have a side business through lending out their own vehicles for car rentals, then more power to them. I would not do it.
