HM: Claudio Castagnoli (C) vs. PAC for the ROH World Title - ROH Death Before Dishonor 7/21 This was really good but I wasn't a huge fan of the ending (but excited about what the post-match promised). HM: Athena (C) vs. Willow Nightingale for the ROH Women's Title - ROH Death Before Dishonor 7/21 Definitely the right choice for the main event. Didn't quite hit MOTYC status but a great capstone to a really, really, really good PPV.

I expected it to be good, but not quite that crazy. I also expected Willow vs Athena to be great, but not quite that great. What a finish.

NJPW G1 Climax 33 Night 5 June 21st MOTYC Gabe Kidd vs Ren Narita - Gabe in BC has been fantastic so far, the future is bright for that boy Shota Umino vs Kaito Kiyomiya - Fantastic match, the last 5 minutes they stepped up a whole other gear and it rocked Kazuchika Okada vs Taichi - These two watched the last match and thought 'yeah, we can top that poo poo easily' SANADA vs Yota Tsuji - Holy crap, so good HM YOSHI-HASHI vs Tanga Loa Will Ospreay vs KENTA G1 Baby!

A couple of dud matches and a couple that didn't hit the heights I hoped but still a very good show on the whole

HM: Yuji Hino (C) vs. Chris Brookes for the KO-D Openweight Championship - DDT Peter Pan 7/23 I am so happy for Chris Brookes  HM: Shingo Takagi vs. Tomohiro Ishii - NJPW G1 Climax Night 6 7/23 Best match of the worst night of the tournament so far (only other highlight was Naito trolling Yano before their match, the match itself was okay). Been slipping on G1 stuff. Night 3 HM: Wll Ospreay vs Yoshi-Hashi HM: Ren Narita vs Yota Tsuji HM: SANADA vs Shota Umino HM: Kazuchika Okada vs El Phantasmo Night 3 was pretty rough, the crowd being in a coma certainly didn't help, but I still enjoyed the second half of the show. Night 4 MOTYC: Jeff Cobb vs Alex Coughlin MOTYC: Henare vs Shingo Takagi HM: Zack Sabre Jr. vs Toru Yano HM: Tomohiro Ishii vs Tama Tonga The crowd, similar to night 3, wasn't great here either, but who loving cares we got big boys slamming into each other and tossing each other around and that's all I really need. Also I know people who've stuck with Nooj through clap crowd era may have some negative emotions w/r/t Toru Yano nowadays but that was a masterful iteration of the typical Yano G1 Goof-Fest. Night 5 MOTYC: Kaito Kiyomiya vs Shota Umino MOTYC: Kazuhika Okada vs Taichi MOTYC: SANADA vs Yota Tsuji HM: Ren Narita vs Gabe Kidd HM: Tanga Loa vs Yoshi-Hashi HM: El Phantasmo vs Great O-Khan HM: Will Ospreay vs KENTA Maybe I'm a little too generous with my criteria for what makes a MOTYC but man this was a killer night, crowd was eating everything up and it really contributed a lot, and everyone was a lot more on their game than the prior 2 nights it felt like. Been watching these on a delay so we'll see where night 6 lands.

That person is not me, I am always entertained by these 3 guys, especially when they chop & headbutt each other (mainly Hino & Higuchi) MOTYC 2nd July DDT Dramatic Dreams! Vol.10 ~Spare Myself and Spare My Name~ HUB vs Yuki Ueno Watch this here This is a cracking match made better by a little context. Show is in Osaka, hometown of Yuki Ueno. It's also the home of Osaka Pro, where HUB made his name. And he's also Yuki Ueno's favourite wrestler, Ueno's signature move he borrowed from HUB (with permission). So it's cool and hey go out & have this match. Honestly this DDT Osaka show way exceeded my expectations for basically a spotshow.

Kenoh failing to get on with anyone since Kongo broke up. Go reminding everyone "oh hey, this dude is one of the best in the world" after a pretty underwhelming return all things considered. Jake being a smug prick. EHdDWJr being that steady hand he always is. Really loving good. And yet totally blown away by the main event. If I'd watched these in reverse order this would be lucky to get HM. MOTYC 15th July Pro Wrestling NOAH One Night Dream Katsuhiko Nakajima vs Kento Miyahara Watch this here Two of my favourite wrestlers. One of whom is the best wrestler in the world right now (well, in Japan. I can't really comment on stuff I don't watch). An interpromotional aspect, NOAH vs All Japan. A deep personal history as they both came up in Kensuke Sasaki's Kensuke Office gym, where Nakajima was the more experienced and frankly a bullying prick, he was very young & acted like it. So there's legit bad blood. Korakuen Hall isn't sold out to capacity but it's still one of the bigger crowds in Korakuen since March 2020, & the crowd is split pretty much down the middle, 50% Nakajima & 50% Kento. All of this adds up to a match that I absolutely adored, a ***** match that is at worst my #2 of the year & with a bit more reflection may well be my #1. But I've just seen it so don't want to get carried away. Sincerely, watch this.
