Pay life, special summon a monster, get an effect. If their field spell is out they get to draw a card every time as an added bonus. End goal is a couple negates and the ability to bounce three cards back to your opponent’s hand during their turn.

It's mostly a synchro engine that's agnostic enough to be slotted into wider pile decks to set up end boards. Besides easy access to level 8 synchros, it also represents easy access to rank 3 and 8 XYZ monsters. Their tuners being level 3 also gives easy access to Psychic End Punisher, and them being psychic means the engine can run Emergency Teleport as an extra starter.

I just realised that my answer is only half complete. A few basic plays that the P.U.N.K. Engine can do off of Ze Amin/Emergency teleport: Ze Amin searches Foxy Tune, which you can then discard with another card to summon Deer Note from the deck. This lets you go into any level 8 Synchro monster, usually Chaos Ruler. From there, you can use Deer Note's second effect to either bring back Ze Amin and go into Psychic End Punisher, or bring back Ogre Dance to go into a rank 8 with Chaos Ruler. Alternatively, you can use Foxy Tune to grab a second copy of Ze Amin, which will let you go into Cherubini or a rank 3 monster. It used to have a way easier time going into Baronne because the engine could also set up Halq, but with the engine not putting up any restrictions on your summons and often not requiring your normal summon, it's very flexible in general.

Found a new favorite tech option in Labrynth, even though 99% of the people playing the Festival are bots. Paleozoic Dinomischus is extremely useful not just in the mirror for getting rid of Lovely Labrynth, but also just in a lot of duels in general. The discard cost means literally nothing as long as you pitch Chandraglier or Torbie.

I just blitzed through the type event with my barely modified Labrynth I was using to climb the regular ladder, didn't even run more than 1 copy of Lady. Easiest ~4000 gems I've ever made. Looking forward to burning it on Kashtira, whenever that comes to Master Duel.

Ash is a very good card but its usage rate would vary by metagame if you got rid of Maxx C. Like you absolutely want it if everyone's trying to resolve Branded Fusion but if something like Swordsoul is the top deck you'd probably shave it for other cards.

What a chore of an event. Don't bother playing first because Lab will play on your turn either way. Blind second isn't a sure thing because people will still find a way to abuse Herald while EVA and Benten are legal. And I never lost to it but I just want to talk to whoever let people know about Consecrated Light. Oh well, at least I cruised through half the event with Evenly/Lightning Storm + scale Curtain Raiser. Shoutouts to the Lab player who made me wait through 2 Storming Mirror Forces. Could not think of a more thematic way to finish this event. Fake edit: That's the freaking loaner

These are Pendulum monsters that sit as scales that build power then let you summon out Link 1 boss monsters. They're effectively psuedo-pendulum summoning Link monsters. It's a rad design space. Between this, Nemurelia using the Pend ED rules in new ways, Valyantz turning pend zones into Troop Deployment Zones, and Even Solfalchord's gimmick of caring about Odd/Even scales and not for pendulum summoning is way more interesting and fun even if they're not The Most Viable. The faster we can pull the concept and design space of pendulum/MonsterSpell cards away from Pend Magician Z-ARC 5 Negate the fast pendulum might become an actual mechanic again. Abyss Actors are still cool though.

It's not like there aren't multiple XYZ archetypes that are good a the same time, nor is there a lack of good generic XYZ tools but If you wanna play pend you're either playing The Pendulum Deck or playing a less than rogue tier deck pure. The newer waves of pend archetypes not playing nice with the usual pend suspects I think is probably healthier for the design space of the summoning type than just printing more generically good Pend monsters.
