I mean Bond did win that final hand by sheer luck. They don't show the initial betting but a character states there's 24 million in the pot after the flop. Big blind was 1 million so that indicates heavy pre-flop betting. There was no reason to try play 5/7 suited in a final table of just 3 other players. Even when he catches the 6/8 suited on the flop he had no reason to hold on for only 2 cards that could complete his straight, and if he got a flush he was beaten except if he got the straight flush. The only conclusion is he played that hand absolutely terribly and did something no professional would do in that situation. Even at the end he slow rolls everyone by letting them turn over their cards first, he had it won with a straight flush, there was nobody who could have beaten him so the polite thing to do would be show your cards first.

Rounders and Maverick are the only good climactic poker hands in film. Rounders for having the protagonist demonstrate actual skill, and Maverick for making the "getting a lucky draw" be a plot point that was setup throughout the story.

speaking of stunt doubles, as i'm watching star trek TOS my favorite thing to do is watch the extremely obvious stunt people. like they had a dude who had a completely different haircut standing in for bones at one point. i assume it's because they never imagined anyone watching this poo poo in HD. i'm sure most of the audience was seeing this on a small black and white tv.

The home versions are basically Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo but stiffer and slower and with a few mechanical changes but the arcade game is a whole different animal. More wild like a darkstalkers or a non-tag Marvel Vs. I can’t find it anymore but there was a very interesting article breaking the two games mechanics down and how they introduced all sorts of mechanics and concepts that still persist in the series and genre to this day

The same thing happens every season. McBride and co like to write each season as a contained story. It does end up with great things like EB&D season 3 having a great sendoff but season 4s one upping it.
