it's incredible how america unloaded a double barrel shotgun into its own balls first by banning china from purchasing high end chips therefore losing their biggest customer and second by incensing them to start producing these chips themselves and in three years created a direct competitor that's on par in quality and cheaper in price. all for what? what did they even gain from this? lol

The US's sanctions on Japanese semiconductor industry was very successful and Japan promptly sent three Toshiba suits to jail for taking too much of the daddy America's market share. As a result, Washington thought every country is as easy to beat down and steal marketshare from as Japan. Maybe it was Japan playing 4D chess all along.
