(Cross-posting from the Pet Sport Pagoda thread in PSP) My boys, Rafael and Gunpei:  Gunpei, who turns14 this month, is not named after Gunpei Yokoi as some have assumed, but has a far geekier origin. (My partner has since informed me that I got one weeb name for cats and used it on him.) He's a very sweet boy who is enjoying his old age for the most part.   Rafael is about five years old. Don't let the cuteness fool you, he's an opinionated rear end in a top hat (who loves me and tolerates my partner.)

As cat tax, here's the last picture I took of Frank before we surrendered him to the rescue to get fostered and adopted out. He wasn't a good fit with our elderly animals so we had to do what was best for him.  He's a very good boy that just wants to play and cuddle and I am very sad without him around. At least we got him off the street.

  We took Suzie to the summerhouse in Frederikssund last week and she seemed happy and puttered about inside and out, spry for her 17 years, nearly blind, high blood pressure and hyperthyroidism not bothering her. Sadly her condition seemed to drop off after coming home Friday and so we took her to the vet, who drew blood and gave us the news that her kidneys had basically failed, she was uremic, and her hematocrit had dropped to the bottom of the scale, to the point the vet said she was amazed to find a live cat with her numbers. It was agreed that the time had arrived. Suzie has gone to be with her brother Sam as of 2pm Copenhagen time today, aged 17 years, 1 month.

Aww, sorry for your great loss. She was a good lookin kitty and its nice she got to have some time on vacation with y'all beforehand. I pray all my cats are as long lived as yours.
