I cant remember where I saw it - but there was an article recently that was like - it's fake news that there is razor wire on the buoys - rather there are serrated circular razors similar to saw blades in between each buoy.

Listen, I have a solution for this

*slaps "turn around, don't drown" sign on top of razor wire buoys*

*wipes hands* There, all done.

Was it the razor wire that caused the drowning?

The state's current position is that they drowned elsewhere in a risky crossing and were washed downstream into the buoys. This is actually pretty plausible, people drown in the Rio Grande in totally normal ways somewhat frequently, but even if true it just means nobody has been drowned by the buoys yet. also zero people should need to cross the river in a risky way

The only redeeming quality to praying with others is when they agree to do the prayer and you don't have to. This sounds painful. God will tune this out.

That’s because it is a desirable policy position to kill immigrants among at least a plurality of the state’s Republican primary voters

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

I'm pretty sure this has been considered prosecutable as animal cruelty for a lot of years now. At least that's what they used to tell us in anti-bullying/hazing assemblies in middle school.

You can fool people into thinking you've done it using clever palming of carved carrots. I'm not sure I think a high school football coach would care enough to bother if he was going to pull that stunt in the first place.
