Also do FD Signifiers videos go beyond incredibly surface level stuff? I tried to watch his video about the manosphere but he spent like 20 loving minutes talking about the relationship between Batman and The Joker for some reason and I gave up on it.

It's a shame Legend of the Galactic Heroes (the original) never got an actual English's release, now there's an anime whose ending and various political aspects are worth discussing.

From what I gathered so far: LittleKuriboh (LK) and TeamFourStar (TFS) had mutual friends/work acquaintances, which makes sense cause the parody fandubbing world can't be that big. One or multiple of these mutual people was a sexpest, this part isn't surprising but still sad. The discussion seems to be around if/when LK and or TFS learned of those and cut their ties with the people involved. I personally hope it isn't actually too bad, or worse a "knew all along" or coverup case cause the TFS and especially LK always seemed like stand up guys. LK especially has been open about his own mental health and like you said owed up to some jokes not aging well.

LK used to be friends with Kirbphober/Christopher Niosi, who is a horrible abusive shitbag. According to LK, he listened to Niosi whine at him over the phone for an hour and decided to cut ties with him then and there. TFS were also associated with some shitbags in the past (they did art and other work for them I guess) but they've long since been tossed into the dustbin. People are upset at LK/TFS for waiting so long to air all this out, but according to TFS, they acted on advice from their lawyers, therapists, and other professionals to not publicly disclose anything on the situation when it first happened. From her perspective, I can understand how it would look like LK/TFS were protecting the abusers by staying silent. If their accounts are to be believed, they took the most proper and correct actions they could have in a situation like this.

From reading the response it seems like the person largely responsible for the accusation against Littlekuriboh, someone called Shadyvox, is a Trump supporter and this was the reason the two fall out. LK discovered this and condemned him for it, which caused Shadyvox to harass LK through emails for a while before ultimately making the threat to ruin his reputation. Doesn’t exactly sound like a reliable source of evidence to me. So far the only thing LK seems to be guilty of is having been associated with some lovely people ten years ago before he knew how what they were like, and then immediately severing ties when he found out. Not sure what else he’s expected to have done other than use psychic powers to ensure he never interacts with anyone who will go on to do lovely things in the future.

One account going around is really heartbreaking. It feels less like a callout on LittleKuriboh and more like a victim of Psyguy's parasocially reading too much into LittleKuriboh being cordial to her at cons and online. It sucks because her pain feels real, and its a gap her actual abuser clearly weaponized and used to hurt her. But, man. That misplaced anger has clearly already festered in a bad way.

Christ hearing the name Kirbphober again after like over a decade and learning he's Niosi just broke my loving brain. Feel bad for LK/TFS, calling out sexpests is good and needs to be done whenever possible but it must be really frustrating to get constantly pulled back into drama surrounding collaborations you did like 15 years ago. Like imagine being in your 30's/40's and getting your public and professional reputation trashed because it turned out one of the friends you hung out with during lunch back in 11th grade turned to be an abuser and you never made a public post with receipts to disown them.

Every time I read one of you post something about how you can't believe people aren't taking a specific message from a piece of media, and how we need to "teach media literacy" again, I'm reminded of my high school literature classes. It was mostly the teacher talking down to us about how we weren't getting Maupassant's message and we needed to stop having these weird interpretations instead of just accepting that theirs was the correct one. I loving hated those classes, and the stupid books they made us read. Then, when I got to a different school and a different teacher, I finally found it fun when we were reading Joyce and given the freedom to elaborate on our own crazy interpretations, before the teacher would lead us into a discussion about them. that loving ruled, even if we were completely wrong at least we got to have fun with it.
