They’re about even in this transfer window

Chelsea have a small profit this season, but last season they spent €600m+ and only got about 10% of that back. If they buy Caicedo they’re in the red again.

Aren’t their purchases last season mitigated by the bullshit amortisation rule, which was why the contracts weee all so long? 7 year deal = 100 million / 7.

They fixed that for this season at least.

Yeah they did the super long contract amortization scam but the transfer fee is still there. They’ll eventually be in a situation where they’ll have limited room to operate even if those players are gone unless they can sell players for big net gains.

The transfer fee isn't there in terms of FFP though, which is all that matters to hedge fund boy

Ya no poo poo anyone on West Ham would leave to Man City so doubt that was hard. I still don't understand why they don't just play Foden in the Gundo position, he really should be starting.

Paqueta is good technically though and I feel it hard for him to fail if he is setting up Haaland.

I really think Palinha is as good as Caicedo. Unfortunately he is older and has crazy valuation as well. Seems like no one wants to negotiate with Fulham who don't need to sell anyone.

The idea of Foden doing critical defensive work is very amusing

I mean thats why there is Rodri and Stones so Gundo would basically push up like a 10. Also from few times he came off the bench last time, he did track back from what I remember. Although you are right in that regard Pacqueta outworks him.

I’m guessing Caicedo just wants the seven year contract Chelsea is surely offering. It’s immense job security in a career where an unlucky injury torpedoes your earnings.
