Yes, I know the game is still in "early access" but they're selling the game and it seems almost complete so I think it counts.

Grey Hunter did one last year if you haven't seen it. Though from your request you might be specifically asking to see what it is like now.

Heavily seconding this.

Also, having (re)watched MandaloreGaming’s excellent review of the series as a whole, I am humbly requesting someone LP the Marathon Quadrology(sp?), starting with Pathways Into Darkness and ending with Marathon: Infinity. Why? Because why the gently caress not.

I strongly recommend this Elden Ring LP. The randomized permadeath makes it consistently interesting in ways that various min/maxed elite runs aren't to me, because the LP'er doesn't even pick their own builds, they gotta run with the poo poo that the thread and a random roll brings them.

I've been playing anew a somewhat obscure combination tower defense and twin-stick shooter game, X-Morph that's delightfully cheesy in a winking b-movie way. I'd be very interested to see someone take a crack at golding this game on hard or brutal, or can recommend a youtube playlist of such that includes the DLC campaigns.

I'd love to see an SSLP of World of Horror for PC (it's on Steam!). I'm too easily spooked to play it myself, but seeing the playthrough would be just creepy enough, thx.

(I guess a well-done VLP would be better than nothing...I just don't like VLPs in general.)

Can someone recommend a good offsite lp of Resident Evil 5? My allergies are blabbing over cutscenes, interrupting the game to interact with stream chat, and being ridiculously incompetent.

Zain w/ CJacobs as co-commentator on the archive are good for 2 and 3, but there is talking over the cutscenes

Nudity includes story scenes with breasts, buttocks and genitalia.

Gore includes story scenes where characters end up with multiple bloody wounds, blades going through characters with noticeable wounds, characters exploding in large bloodsprays (only blood), characters getting decapitated, a character having a large open slash wound, a character gets their head caved in and a character is missing their hand in the form an open recent wound. Outside of story scenes, one character can learn abilities potentially through character customization to decapitate or explode enemies in large bloodsprays in combat.

Violence and blood are present throughout the in-game combat and story scenes. Some bloodsprays from certain story scenes, certain combat effects and getting hit by cars in combat contain more blood in their bloodsprays than most normal combat/scenes.

Strong language is used throughout Story Mode, and includes cursing, violent/dark themes and sexual themes. Outside of Story Mode, one Artifact in Heist Mode references pornography, but nothing is seen.

I've mentioned these before but I think Kruggsmash's heavily edited video LPs are genuinely excellent.

It's not a game that lends itself to video, but unlike most youtubers he really puts the effort in to make it work as best it can. Deadbody was a nice series: it was the first he made after the steam version so it has actual graphics, and it's short and relatively focused. Some of the longer ones tend to end in a loop of "and so we worked on more megaproject stuff while murdering a lot of goblins/elves/cave people".

I'm having a weird flashback to an LP - that might not have been in here? - about physical casebooks where goons were given paper evidence and clues and had to solve a mystery. Like a CYOA but with more feelies. It wasn't from the Sherlock Holmes megathread, I remember that much. But... what was it?

Ugh, I remember that, or something like that. It was definitely an SA LP, and the LPer had found a pretty old 'murder mystery evening' boxed set with a bunch of vintage booklets and things? I want to say it was a murder mystery set on a cruise ship, but that's almost certainly wrong. I just have this solid memory of a photograph of the stacked-up booklets in the OP, looking very vintage with their yellowed paper.

Kangra
May 7, 2012

Yeah, I definitely remember that sort of thing. It wasn't my SHCD one but it helped me get back into it. You could visit each person's room, I think, to question them about topics. There was a map and it was something like a cruise ship or similar closed space (I'm pretty sure how the rooms were laid out was important for establishing the order of events). There may have been more than one case to solve.

I think it might be because the first Icewind Dale is... very... I wanna say shallow? It has very little in the way of story or character interactions. Just go here, mangle that, move on, mangle this, move on. Imagine Baldur's Gate 1 but everything is white and gray and everything you meet is hostile and wants to kill you.
