The dashboard doesn't start at the beginning of the decline. According to people on r/LinusTechTips it peaked at over 42k before the GN video went up. Also, Floatplane as a separate division from the rest of LTT relies on subscription revenue to pay for their developers. Losing 4.5k subs means they lost at least $22.5k per month, which is at least one employee's worth of salary (even assuming half the subscription revenue goes to non-labor expenses). This is putting Luke (who is in charge of Floatplane) in a very precarious position since he's repeatedly said on the WAN Show that the existing Floatplane team is already way overworked (big surprise, huh?) so he can't afford to lose anyone.

If I had more data of how many days it takes them to tick up 0.1 mil subs, it would be possible to make a much better estimate.

If GN had reached out to her for her story, even anonymously, it would have been so much more affective than pulling quotes out of context. That's the kind of investigation I wish they'd done. Maybe they'll talk to a lot of people for a follow up video, but I worry that unless it's put in a video by a major channel that it's going to be unseen by the larger youtube audience.
