ECW used a crazy amount of licensed music and never had permission for any of it. EDIT: Maybe Rob Zombie was okay with it, I remember him doing that "This is Extreme loving Championship Wrestling" bit.

Between The Sheets did several great deep-dives on ECW on their patreon. I'm not subbed right now so can't really go back and find the bit but the gist was that Paul had a friend who ran a public access music video show or something of that ilk & somehow he convinced...someone? (the networks? Record companies? I can't remember) that he had the rights to use the music because that other show had the rights. It seems to not make much sense to me & I'm absolutely remembering at least part of this wrong, but if Bix sees this he can correct me.
