I doubt that exact date will be it. Since one of the defendants are making a request for a speedy trial the court will have to try to accommodate that since there's a constitutional right to one. I guess they could split out that defendant into their own case? Or move things a bit later for the sake of the other defendants.

It's certainly a good argument for having a trial early to counter super late trial dates from the likes of Trump.

As far as I'm aware they can't split it under RICO charges, because they're collective rather than individual.

Okay, I was under the impression that the dude Trump fired actually had like...a good track record. Like when I first read about him I was mildly disquieted about how he appears to be a pretty effective dirtbag.

Then again the fact that Trump fired him means he probably WAS good and didn't just coddle Trump, which is why he got fired.

It wasnt in wapo earlier when I checked but cable news reported that the new attorney filed a motion saying he intended to file a motion trying to separate Trumps trial out from the others because Chesebro's motion resulted in the October trial date proposal. No telling if the defendants are in cahoots, you'd assume so, but Chesebro agitating for early trial and Trump pushing as a delay possibly to split things up and complicate things for prosecution.

Or the motion is a success and the trials are severed. And Chesebro gets his earlier trial and is convicted. Then he has to think does he want to get sentenced, or will he flip at this point for (a severely reduced) bit of mitigation for his sentence and agrees to testify in the much later Trump trial?

Probably won't happen, but it would be a spectacular own goal.

It's fun because we know the heights and weights of pro athletes, so for comparison's sake, here's a 6'3 216lb NFL player:

The coach next to him is listed at 5'11, but he's also 71 now, so probably has shrunk a lil' bit.

I am one million percent certain he negotiated that they would just take his word for it instead of weighing and measuring him. I've been counting calories and seeing a personal trainer since the beginning of the year, and that's my height and weight buck rear end naked first thing in the morning after I take a dump.

But I did toxx, so I'll follow through. I'll have the receipt tomorrow :argh:

I can’t find the article, but I read one the other day that was discussing this very issue and basically the takeaway is that the Fulton County jail doesn’t care about the actual height and weight of their intakes. They just accept whatever is written on the form, and some of the other RICO members have also had absurd discrepancies in their stats.
