I just realized there are 3 or 4 houses in my neighborhood flying the Swedish flag. I wonder if theyre proud of their heritage or they think it's helping Ukraine.

We had this happen, so we just bought a cheapo tin of white paint from Bunnings and put out address on our bin.

Had a mate who used a butane torch to engrave his address on his bin. No one was ever scraping that off. Really impressed that he didn't just set his bin alight or burn right through the plastic.

lmao iinet /tpg are cutting off email as a service.

Luckily I was already in the process of shifting over to gmail (lmao I know :( ).

How will I get all their lovely offers tho? And hanging onto the email address was pretty much the only thing keeping me tethered to them.

Yeah, this is annoying as poo poo.

I have multiple gmail address for personal, family, work and spam and, rather than constantly deal with login/logout bullshit*, I have them all set up to forward to ten different iinet email accounts that I all manage through Thunderbird where I can see everything at once.

At least they gave us the option of having the email go through a third party while keeping the same address. But that also means there's no longer all these email accounts directly linking me to iinet's lovely loving internet service and acting as a reason to stay with them.

I've got cable internet which is fast, but since iinet took over the service, it's degraded to the point it goes out for a couple minutes about 20 times a day.

so I'm doing a dance between different anti-depressants

Was on Pristiq that made me fat, sweaty and dickless but somewhat functional

On Duloxetine recenlty (Cymbalta) which made me not-fat, less sweaty, and somewhat non-functional so I'm switching again, this time to Lexapro upon doctor's advice.

Current or former Lexapro people; yeah nah or nah yeah? What have I got to look forward to?

It's hard to say with anti-depressants. Side effects seem to randomly effect people with little rhyme or reason to it. If pristiq (desvenlaflaxine) worked for you with only some weight loss maybe regular venlaflaxine (effexor) would too. Pristiq made me sick but sort of worked however effexor has worked incredibly and I don't really had any side effects now, although I didn't blink and had a permanent amphetamine grin on my face for the first two weeks.

What brand?
Dulux? Taubmans? Wattyl?
Or is it a more artsy brand? Reeves? Liquitex? Winsor & Newton?

I took Lexapro for about 6 months in my younger days and found it tolerable and helpful at the time. Wasn't too bad to get off, mild brain zaps for a few days.

Where does the term "brain zaps" come from? I know exactly what you mean but every time I've mentioned to a doctor that I'm getting brain zap side effects they don't have a clue what I'm talking about. I end up describing it as momentary dizziness and the doctor ends up just noting "mild dizziness" but I don't think that accurately describes it.

Is a proper medical term for it?

Bald Stalin
Jul 11, 2004

Our posts
Brain zaps are sensory disturbances that feel like electrical shock sensations in the brain. A person may also notice a brief buzzing sound and feel faint or black out momentarily.

Brain zaps can happen when a person decreases or stops using certain medications, particularly antidepressants.

They are not harmful and will not damage the brain. However, they can be bothersome, disorienting, and disruptive to sleep.

There is no medical term for brain zaps, but researchers describe them as a type of sensory disturbance. Sensory disturbances after stopping antidepressants can lead to burning, tingling, electric- or shock-like sensations in the body and brain.

But in da brain.

Sums it up well. It's like a low voltage jolt from doing things (or nothing at all, mine was if I moved my eyes to the right), but mainly in your head.

They're annoying as hell, but compared to other withdrawals it was nothing too unbearable and went away after a couple of weeks.

Hell the side affects ON antidepressants were worse than a few weeks of brain zaps for me. Both start up and persistent.

But yeah some doctors won't even acknowledge discontinuation symptoms as being a real thing.
