I feel like Circus Circus and Excalibur and the only Strip resorts I have an instinctive reservation about, and I think CC has been renovating rooms lately? Not that the rooms are my only issue with the place.STONE COLD 64 posted:north end is pretty sketch and isnt even offset by being cheap. TI seems to have decent prices and I liked it well enough, or is that not quite "north"? Are we talking more CC and Strat? I heard Sahara was decent and that seems cheeper than places further down. Actually I'm investigating for a quick trip in a few weeks and I think I've talked myself out of Sahara. Looks good in itself (if you get in with the room decor) but it's kind of in the middle of nowhere there. Anyone started at the Hilton Garden Inn? I started at one in New York and it was pretty good. How accessable is it from the Strip? I think I'm looking at that, Virgin or TI, if anyone has thoughts on how they compare.

If I'm downtown it's either Nugget or Circa. To be totally honest, I'm really enjoying 1-2 NL $200 Min No Max NL Hold'em at the Nugget along with very interesting people watching opportunities.

Fair enough. And I’m not some Harrah’s partisan or anything, I just frequent the Caesar’s properties so I can experience different ~*vibes*~ while still getting juju on my player’s card. Harrah’s isn’t my favorite either, but I’d describe it as “boring” before “dark.” And I see lots of people not having fun in casinos, losing money sucks

Ok I'm speaking as someone who is a non gambler, so I couldn't really say much to the quality of the casino, but I honestly didn't get the dark feeling of the floor. The ceilings were a bit low but that's the case for any old casino. I really liked the convenience. I stayed in the valley tower, and it was super nice how you exited the elevators right into the food hall. Made it super easy access to a wide variety of food. Also, it had to be one of the fastest hotels to get out of. I could walk from my room to my car in like 3-5 minutes, which was insane. I also really liked their newly renovated rooms. The shower without a shower door was weird, but everything else felt pretty clean and up to date. Considering I only paid like $12/night was the cherry on top. One of the biggest cons was that it was probably one of the only Caesars properties that didn't include a mini fridge (them and Caesars Palace). Most other Caesars properties come with a mini fridge and I just got used to having access to one. pezzie fucked around with this message at 12:51 on Jul 31, 2023 |

The Venetian and Palazzo are my favorite hotels on the strip I've stayed at. I like the MGM for the value. Caesar's was solid. I intend to try the Wynn at some point.

So I'm gonna be in Vegas on Labor Day weekend, solo trip. Staying Sunday - Wednesday, because I like my rooms cheap. I got a comp room at the Aria for Sunday night (MyVegas reward), and I've got a room at the Linq for Monday and Tuesday nights, paid for with Caesars Rewards points. No resort fees for either property because I have MGM Gold (for now) and Caesars Diamond, so they are totally free! I've got a reservation at Bugsy and Meyers Steakhouse in the Flamingo to use my $100 celebration dinner. However, I've still got like $360 in Caesars rewards credits to use. Anyone have any good restaurants I should hit up that take Caesars Reward points? I'm thinking of visiting Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill, since I've been to most of his other restaurants. I'm open to suggestions though. I'd like to avoid steakhouses since I've already got one dinner at one, and I don't think I wanna go back to the Bacchanal this time since I was just there in May. pezzie fucked around with this message at 04:18 on Aug 3, 2023 |

The floor areas in MGM Grand felt quite old and tired and scruffy to me. Like the whole place needs a big old refit and modernisation.

But even before I had Diamond, if you log into your account on Caesars' website it usually turns up the cheapest rooms anyway. So I don't know if that third party quirk is true.

I'll be there from tomorrow until Wednesday. 4 nights, 4 different hotels, almost all free! I love the credit card game. I'll be using both my $100 Diamond dinner, as well as my American Express Platinum's Fine Hotels and Resorts credit for one night at the Bellagio that includes another $100 on food and $60 on breakfast. I'm gonna eat like a king this weekend!

Passed on visiting for the MTG event later this month but I saw Alice In Chains are playing Planet Hollywood in October, band I'd really like to see (or at least Jerry Cantrell now) and dunno if they'd ever come to the UK again. Just glancing at prices for that night as a starting point, including the better rates I get from TI for being on their Loyalty program or staying with them before, I think I'd be looking to stay Downtown. Has anyone who's been recently got thoughts on this plan given the road works for F1 etc? Probably over thinking as I can head down hours ahead and have plenty to do in the meantime but I like to be thorough, even when I'm looking at something impulsive. And how is the performance space in Planet Hollywood? Anything I should think twice about?

Thanks, in the end I talked myself out of it, I'm sure it's not always been the case post-COVID but flights from London to Vegas suck right now. I've also been seeing vids of the F1 poo poo going up, and coupled with the hacks of MGM and Caesar's it's an awful time to visit Vegas. I don't think anyone "knows" although it will presumably be easier and smoother to transition to race readiness in subsequent years. In theory. Although I think I heard some hotels are starting to reduce their prices for the race day(s?) although that won't be the only metric with those viewing packages being sold.
