It's a thread but Rockstar is selling cracked copies on Steam right now.
From what I can gather, the cracked versions were what were for sale back in 2010, but they got busted for it and switched to shipping a legit EXE with the copy protection disabled (the cracked EXE still ships but is not used). Problem is, disabling the copy protection enables a bunch of "anti-piracy" poo poo that intentionally makes the game unplayable, which never affected the cracked version.

I've got BL 1 and 2 (+ some DLC) in a bundle back in the day, and actually bought Tales from the Borderlands.

The full Borderlands Collection, at 90% off (!!) would still cost 156 shekels.

That's a frankly gross amount of nickel and dime DLC. Maybe not up there with paradox or whatever, but just insane for a shooter.

Awesome!

I’m not buying/downloading for a couple of weeks (no reason, just finishing some backlog), but it’s not like I don’t already know what I’m getting with a Bethesda game.

Hell, I just rebought the newest version of Skyrim to make modding easier, and I bought/played the original since 11/11/11. Their games are fun, and the longer you own them the better they get because of the mod scene. I expect lightsabers and X-Wings by December

I'm very much enjoying starfield, but I don't like the space combat much. I don't feel like I have any good tools to avoid enemy hits.

Running around on planets shooting dudes and collecting loot is good fun though.

It's real easy. If you like Bethesda jank, Starfield is that refined to an absurd degree. I personally really, *really* love the time I'm having with it, goofy bugs and stilted dialogue and all.
The game has crashed exactly one time so far, entering photo mode. Otherwise the bugs are things like people standing on chairs or sprinting light speed into a wall and knocking off a statue on a table.

Starfield indeed rules, suck it haters. I felt the same way about Cyberpunk when that was released too . Modders are already at work doing all the modding stuff even without the creation kit.

You have to mod it to get the FOV where you want, 110 FOV for me with 21:9, but it's a .ini tweak and just the once. The console in the game works out of the box, including 'unlock' and tfc and tcl and all the others. It's literally Space Skyrim and if that's something you like, you'll love it.

It's a pretty big departure from their usual formula, though, so I don't think this will be universally true (less than for their Fallout games). A lot of people that liked Skyrim might not love Starfield, and vice versa. Starfield is missing a core component of those games: a great Bethesda world map. But that's alright, it's not trying to be the same thing, even if it shares a whole lot in common with those games.

As for myself, I like it, sometimes love it (occasionally I shout at it), but it's different enough from their previous titles that I'd have trouble comparing it directly. I like Starfield for different reasons than I like Skyrim. Many of the things I love Skyrim for, Starfield does a poor job with imo. But so many of the things Starfield does, Skyrim doesn't even attempt.

Starfield is missing the "open world with exploration and dynamic NPCs" part of Skyrim which is hitting people who expected it to be Space Skyrim pretty hard. Please do not call me a hater for pointing this out, I like Starfield but I wouldn't recommend it on the basis of it being just like Skyrim.

I care and have never played a TF game, even though I hear good things about it ITT and others. I’ll probably pick it up at $3, but it goes in the backlog after StS (never tried a card game on the computer besides hearts/solitaire!) and then Starfield.

It’s a very different dynamic. Planet hopping and sprinting across featureless landscapes to reach pre marked POIs, versus being immersed in a single continual, densely detailed world.

This is me, yeah.

Like look, games (like movies or music or whatever else) are personal experiences so I can't map mine onto other people's expectations, but I did not follow the hype even a little bit for Starfield. Last week I saw it was going to be available and, considering how much I've played Morrowind and Oblivion and Skyrim and Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4 (with New Vegas being the best, Skyrim with the most time spent) I assumed I'd like this as well. Surprise, I love it, and the mods already gushing out gets me even more people excited because this means I'm going to have a game I like and can play for the next goddamn decade at least.
For me, Starfield IS space Skyrim, it's my favorite brand of jank while fully realizing that it is jank. I also suspect there are more than a few people that are going to see for themselves soon on Gamepass if they too like the game or not.
Some people are going to hate Starfield, some might actually play it first. It deserves mockery and criticism and all the other stuff, but it is not a bad or broken game at all.
Now that Balder's Gate 3 has (rightfully) legitimized full on sex though it is cute to see how pedestrian and PG Starfield is. It's a very strange thing to see people in one hand go "HA MODDERS MADE NUDE SKIN ALREADY" when BG3 has fully rendered 69 from the start, not to mention genitalia itself.
