Friend posted:I've watched the video several times and tried to draw the path on a napkin and I'm convinced that if he walked in and used the door on the right in the first hall, he would be in the final hall where his bedroom is. actually I'm pretty sure the first and final halls should be the same hall but they don't look the same He moves faster in the part between the staircases, it's actually quite long. It looks like the stairs are mirrored on either side of the first hallway and a door in the first hallway either leads to the last hallway or a small room that also leads to the final hallway. It's unclear if this route is ignored because it's impossible or to exaggerate the weirdness.

My SIL is dealing with this poo poo right now because her mom married an abusive, racist piece of human trash and now SIL doesn't want him around her kid. MIL literally sent a "sigh " TEXT the other day in an effort to elicit guilt and I am just absolutely floored at this bizarre paradigm shift in which the self-proclaimed "bootstraps" generation have publicly curled into pitiful, whinging lumps of cowardice and codependence. Social media has really made boomers comfortable showing their entire rear end for the world to see. Like, we've known for a long time that many of them are gutless loving cowards still riding a decades-old gravy train, but goddamn if they haven't gone and made an entire identity out of it. Terminally online boomers are maybe the most depressing demographic cross-section of the US. Modal Auxiliary has a new favorite as of 18:17 on Sep 6, 2023 |

If you work with any large brands they will also request that thumbnail images be planned out in advance. I don't know anything about Mr Beast other than this, but just wanted to let you know that he isn't unusual in this respect.

Arsenic Lupin posted:e: Designing the marketing campaign when only an early draft of a book is available is pretty standard in publishing. That's absurd too, imo. Granted, I've only made three videos, they're all about making silly things that make me happy, and I have zero desire to make it into a living. But if I had to come up with a thumbnail before making the object in question... I might just walk into the woods and never return.

There are lots of processes for making things that start with the “end” artifact. Amazon famously starts projects by writing the press release that they would use to announce the new product.

This is no defense of Mr. Beast, but because Google doesn't really give anyone any guidance on how the algorithm works so they can directly create their content to match how the algorithm wants it, that kind of A/B testing is the norm for basically everything involved in a YouTube video and is just how things have to work if you're going to live on the platform. The bigger you are, the higher the stakes and the more resources you can throw at it but even relatively small fry creators do extensive thumbnail testing too.
