Idk, I get not being into Springsteen, but how can the one song you think is good be a massive cheesy overproduced single like Dancing in the Dark? That whole album usually sounds better in covers imo, the Downtown Boys do a great version of Dancing in the Dark, Basia Bulat's Glory Days is a great interpretation, etc.

Hmm, will anyone go to bat for the Sugarcubes? This was Bjork's band before her solo career. One song is amazing, Birthday, but every other song I've heard always includes a verse sung by some other dude in the band which kinda ruins whatever they were going for imo

I had only previously heard Birthday and yeah I really like it but hadn't heard anything else. checked out their #2 song on Spotify, Hit. Didn't know about the intro, it kind of felt like nothing was really meshing at first though the bassline slaps. Then Bjork comes in and it all instantly clicked and was great for awhile then that guy starts rapping and holy gently caress that bit was awful. then the guy mercifully stops rapping and bjork comes back in and then the rest of the song cotinues being great. I'm going to keep listening because bjork sounds great here but yeah that guy ruins the vibe every time he pipes up e: this is a loving ride, someone so talented paired with the guy everyone else is too polite to kick out of the band

God this thread is making my head spin. Who the hell doesn't like Talking Heads? For a real answer; Freak on a Leash. All the rest of Korn's music makes me wanna laugh at how dumb it is but that one somehow doesn't despite the weird freakout at the end.

I remember in the early 2000s they had a music video that was US Army propaganda and the only place I ever saw it was at movie theaters. Maybe it was that one.

Just like a 15-30 second thing "Saudi Arabia..... our friends... Always...." or some other insane bullshit. It was immediately after 9/11 for very very obvious reasons. I didn't know anything about them or the attackers much at the time and shrugged it off and joined the Marines but god drat if that wasn't the weirdest ad I've seen at a theater. I have no evidence of this and no one I've talked to remembers it.
