Black Adam had kind of a rise and was written as a morally ambiguous anti hero character and I can see how The Rock would get sold on it being a good role for him and then spending all those years building it up in his head as the superhero boom happened and there was theoretically a place for him in a big cinematic universe. I imagine that also factored into his trying to keep Adam separate from Shazam so he wouldn’t just be a villain as there’s very few in the MCU/DCEU with any real staying power behind 1 film. That being said even if his career is relegated to Fast and Furious sequels and more b actions I think he’ll probably be fine. After all they’re still making Expendables movies for someone.
