I mean as long as you aren't paying for the ai subscription. If you're gonna pay you can sub to one of any number of patreons that just make rpg tokens every month and give patreons access to their backlog.

I'm of the mind when it comes to playing private games then there's no real difference between grabbing pictures off Google or AI generating them. They're both being taken without attribution and there's no money going to an artist, but you're not making any money off it either so whatever. In retrospect I feel like there was some fundamental disconnect going on where people didn't see the AI as "theft" because people get caught up in the "The AI is learning like the human brain. It's like teaching art students to copy the styles of the masters!" spiel that I just don't buy into at all.

AI art being used by corpos to slash spending on real artists is fail and AIDS.

Being used by individuals or local ttrpg groups is fine, but no one gives a poo poo about it beyond the person who made it, so there's no reason to share it. It's fine in it's own thread, but shouldn't be allowed outside of it just because how easy it is to churn out 1000 copies of the same drek, and overwhelm threads.

I peeked into the TG AI thread to see if it was as bad as it sounded and there was a post with about 50 AI generated portraits in it that got full quoted 4 times by people just saying "those look great!"

If I've been a bad enough person my eternal damnation will involve manually scrolling past those posts forever
