It is IR, in fact my first ever roll of the stuff. I got a 720nm filter and was using Rollei IR 400. I metered for ISO 3 (about 8 stops slower) for the filter factor and kept an eye out for nice light on my hike. The worst part was really having to carry a tripod on my hike but I'm going to continue doing it for sure.

Oh nice, I just (like literally 20 minutes ago) got three rolls of IR film from FPP and am looking forward to trying it out after getting a filter

e: there was a whole new page lol

I'm just getting into participating in The Dorkroom and I am a little confused by this thread haha. Did 500 pages of actual landscapes just get boring so the thread has moved onto more abstract takes on "landscape"? I'm not complaining, there are some excellent and interesting photos the last several pages, and are more fun to look at than yet another photo of a mountain, but I wasn't expecting them.

Check out dis actual landscape

I would really love a quick behind the scenes on how you created each of these images

I would really love a quick behind the scenes on how you created each of these images

1) Went to check out a waterfall around 9am. There were stairs down the side of it so you could walk from top to bottom. As I was going down, I saw myself illuminated from behind and took this snapshot.

2) Same lighting/location as 1. Saw some water making mist. Light passed through various rocks above and created the parallel lines. Took a bunch of snapshots, this was my favorite.

3) 30second long exposure with a wide angle lens just after the sun set.

4) Was shooting star photos. There was a road that wrapped around the mountains. I saw that when cars rounded the corner, they'd make some interesting light situations. I shot a bunch of exposures around 3 seconds each and caught this one of the headlights going through the tree.

5) Middle of the day shot from above with a telephoto down into a valley. I liked the confusing perspective the tree made against the river below it.

Let me know if you want more detail.
