Thank you for the Xbox replies btw. Been thinking of getting a Series S but without Game Pass (not available in my region, only PC pass) it doesn't seem worth it if I have to rebuild a library from scratch.

Not a week goes by where someone doesn't bemoan the S for not being able to run games good, so while I can understand wanting to save money it doesn't seem worth it.

bg 3 would be a better if resources were per combat encounter and the camp was only for after big story beats

Starfield and SKyrim would be a lot better if they had SaGa mechanics.

I wonder how hard it would be to mod in glimmers?

The most refreshing thing about Starfield is that it doesn't make you the leader of every guild, so to speak. You get some perks for finishing each faction quest but you aren't instantly elevated to godhood in the eyes of the world, you're still a dude among millions after all.

(Actually how many people are there in the Settled Systems anyway? I know it doesn't matter because Bethesda are terrible with scale, but still.)

We're never going to have the Morrowind rise to ultimate power fantasy again, but that's probably for the best given how much of a slog it could be. I would have liked to see more faction interactions though, there's hardly anything to do after you beat the faction quests other than very samey missions for the police factions and literal repeats of the faction quests for stuff like Ryujin.

Oh, and what is the actual reward for delivering resources to staryards anyway? I tried it once and I think I got less than I would for completing a regular mission.

I want to mod in the full text of every public domain book that Starfield has. I have no idea if I'd ever actually read an entire book in a Bethesda RPG but it would be funny to put in all of Moby-Dick into the game.

The general wisdom about D&D on SA is that the opposite of this is true for every edition except 4th but it sure isn't for BG3

My MC is a Frenzy barbarian and Lae'zel has Great Weapon Master and they get three attacks each per turn and they outpace my magic users in DPS since they don't have to worry about spell slots. Not great for AoE or crowd control though obv

a barb can still throw balls of fire, technically. fill a bag up with goblin corpses, light them on fire, throw them.

tabletop d&d gives huge advantage to spellcasters compared to video game d&d for two reasons. first, there are usually a bunch of spells that don't make it into the games because they would break the video game in half, like flight or scrying. second, a lot of DMs are unimaginative rubes who are willing to let cleverly used magic be the solution to problems it shouldn't be "because it's cool", but who gasp in horror at the idea that the barbarian could also do cool unrealistic things because his muscles are very large and huge
