I don't know if Enrique uses a mikrohuawei or not, but I'm going into the servant's part of the house. Actually my house came with a microwave that's older than me and still going strong for at least 3 bowls of oatmeal a day.

I don't have a microwave nor an air fryer nor an instant pot nor a rice cooker nor a slow cooker nor a food processor. I just use a stove, oven, pots and a knife. I do have a little portable induction cooktop for hotpot at home though because hotpot at home is sweet AF.

Being poor I have to scream at my food until it's warm enough to eat. Wildly jealous luxuries such as microwaves and instapots.

in the 60s or 70s a GM factory bought a huge number of robots to build cars only to find out the robots couldnt make cars while the workers stood outside and refused to work they brought in a consultant to help them make the robots build cars and after charging them a shitload of money, he told them, "those machines do not know how to make cars. the men outside do. take out the machines and let the men make the cars." then they took out all the robots and parked them in a lot somewhere

My understanding is the big euro and us car makers have acknowledged ev is the future but decided on shorter time profits in combustibles and then death to ev later. It's gonna be brutal, but maybe I'm wrong

It's gonna be brutal, but maybe I'm wrong US car makers are betting on the infrastructure not gaining enough ground to support EVs outside of blue cities and through their lobbying and lobbying of gas companies they’re probably right. One thing that’s not mentioned is that because the lobbying has politicized EVs so much for right-wingers, charging stations in deep red areas are constantly vandalized so people will pull up to charging stations with smashed screens and the charging connectors cut off

Meanwhile, any kind of car based infrastructure is pretty bad for humans and their environment, so in the end everyone loses.

DR FRASIER KRANG posted:https://westseattleblog.com/2023/09/west-seattle-crime-watch-junction-ev-charging-station-hit-by-vandalism-theft-again/ Technology Connections made the point that like, to try to "not be gas stations", almost all of the EV chargers are out on the edge of parking lots or other places that make it easy to vandalize them and also annoying to use them if you're taking a trip anywhere (since you then have to go somewhere else to get snacks or clean your windshield or whatever), and they could solve both of these problems by just... making them more gas-station-like, but they ~don't want to be gas stations~ for some reason. Like it's not even really "deep red areas", they're vandalized everywhere, because it is trivially easy to vandalize them.
