Here's a story out of New South Wales, Australia. A reporter was trying to figure out what happens when the department of Births, Deaths, and Marriages rejects a baby's name. She tried contacting the government office and she couldn't get a sufficient response. So since she was about to have a baby, she decided to name her baby something stupid that would obviously get rejected to find out what happened. Naturally, government being government no matter where you're from, missed it. Reconstruction was a failure and Red states across the country, many of them in the South, are gleefully putting targets on the backs of gay and trans people, passing laws against teaching black history and anything else "woke". I suppose it's a wonderful place to live if you're straight, white, conservative and christian though. As a white Southerner with roots in the South that go back to the 1600's: the South is a loving cesspit.

Still think Newsom/Fetterman 2024 would be a powerhouse ticket that would cleanup on downballot races. I know Newsom isn’t ideal but he has national profile & contempt for maga nonsense & Fetterman is becoming one of the most popular Dems nationally. Know we’re gonna get stuck with Biden/Harris limping across the finish line but oh well.
