Or when he wanted to draft two top 5 picks in Lawrence and Kyle Pitts (which looking at what Houston did this year I guess maybe they could have? and it would have both saved them from taking Travon Walker first overall and Pitts from going to a team that gives him 2 uncatchable targets a game )

Will the Broncos fire coaches mid season back to back (no, but man they really don’t look any better than they did under Hackett so far)

The only thing that should save Douglas is if he comes out this week and either trades for a QB or says that they will move on from Rodgers and Wilson after the season.

Saying he would move on from Rodgers would ensure he's fired. We gave up way too much to drop him without seeing if he can come back and play next year. Personally I doubt he could, but the alternative is accepting that we're hosed for the rest of this year and the next with nothing to show for it and no way to recover. So what, you commit to giving the guy who fumbled that hard 3 more years to get us back on track? No way in hell.

I don't understand how douglas hasn't reached out to every team with a decent backup to ask them how much. Im sure the other teams have the jets over a barrel with asking price, but douglas is gone if he doesn't do it

Get Saleh and Douglas in the room, ask them if they'll move on from Zach Any answer that isn't yes results in immediate termination Get each remaining option to coach and/or GM from the building in the same room and ask them the same question, and keep going like that until you get the correct/yes answer

They should cut Wilson tomorrow so there's no chance he can even play another snap for them.

They do have to get someone else in the building, Flacco, Wentz, Matt Ryan, somebody It's not like you can run out Tim Boyle either.

They wasted two years on Wilson and now one year on Rodgers. You wanna gamble ANOTHER year on a 40 year old QB coming off an achilles?

The team is already in the poo poo why the hell would you add Wentz to that situation? Yeah let's bring in a guy openly hated by evey team he's played for, he'll fix things. The Jets are just hosed this year. The plan was Rodgers or bust soon as they told Carr he was the backup plan. It's bust.

There's nothing to gamble away by sticking with what we have for next year. The money and picks are already spent on Rodgers, the talent has already been brought in to support him. They need to invest in offensive line regardless of if they're moving on immediately or sticking with Rodgers. Unless the Jets completely bottom out this season and end up with a top 3 pick there's not even a way to set up with a different QB.

Ideally the vet is someone who's proven to suck at HC so they can provide stability, are unlikely to be behind away despite being good at their job and can help with the dumb bullshit that comes with being a HC. Take a risk at your stronger suit as if the hotshot turns out, great. If they are full of crap, you'll likely notice earlier, and are able to step in if needed. And if they are good, then they'll inevitability be hired away, but again, you can provide continuity and hopefully learn something from them too.
