I think he's either about to gently caress off and go home, or goad Doc Ock into thoroughly admitting and explaining his plan in front of a bunch of people.

:spidey: no one must suspect that Kid Spider-man is actually Spider-man

I love that apparently in Stan Lee's mind, wrestling is real and nobody tells anybody who their opponent is going to be, and it's totally real but also showbusiness at the same time.

Uh, dude, Spidey? We know you sometimes forget things, like when you have two web shooters or what costume you are even wearing sometimes, but you have met Mysterio before.

This is from 1979.

Maybe Stan Lee's role as a sort of editor by 2003 wasn't really doing much, and maybe new writer Roy Thomas wouldn't be aware of this earlier story, but I can't imagine both of them missing it. Or I can, I guess. It did happen.

If you look up '80s aerobics outfits, it resembles some of those if you tried to draw one from memory 10-20 years after the fact. Or if someone described one to you when you'd never seen one.

This could be the case, Mysterio’s real name is Quentin Beck not Hardley Harper.
