I do agree that I would say I only manage to get the visceral attack like maybe 1 out of every 5 times because the length of time they're staggered is roughly the same length of time it takes to charge an R2 attack on the weapon I'm using, but I think there are skills you can take to increase that window as well. This is mostly accurate as far as I can tell. Any damage to an enemy grows their invisible stagger meter, but it's slowly decaying at all times. Perfect parries do enough that you can outstrip that decay by a lot, normal attacks may not do enough to consistently grow it unless you are landing them very often. Immediately going in for a charged heavy attack once the bar turns white is usually a mistake, not just because the enemy will counterattack but because a perfect parry against a big attack usually blasts you a few feet backwards. You can extend the bar time by either using the right upgrades or by getting more perfect parries until you spot your opening. Some weapon frames also have faster charge attacks than others so you can pick a moveset you like that gives you an easier time Also remember that triggering stagger will override anything the the enemy is doing including fury attacks so if you're feeling extra frisky you can charge attack against a move you know has a long windup and (probably) get the stun instead of a puppet fist to the face haveblue fucked around with this message at 16:13 on Sep 26, 2023 |
