Low; I think Ally, at least, had never played before, and most others had only played a little bit.

the ones that werent had still only played with brennan, i believe. that said, axford and murph are savants

edit: actually, naddpod had quite a few episodes by then. so at least murph and emily had a good amount of familiarity with 5e

No, Emily and Murph are very experienced (they're the ones behind Not Another D&D Podcast, NADNDPOD), but I think Ally was fully new to tabletop RPG's. Lou and Siobhan I'm not sure about. There's a lot of learning how the game is played and how the campaign is going to work by everyone.

It's not where I'd recommend people start with Dimension 20, but Fantasy High S1 is really good -- and the first combat in particular has a *spectacular* outcome. Don't honestly remember too much from S2.

Lou and Siobhan were both in Brennan’s home game before FH, I think. Ally was the only complete novice to it (and I think it was originally supposed to be Rekha in that spot who would also have been completely new to the game but she pulled out because of scheduling)

I skipped S2 of Fantasy High because of the live recording making it tough to watch. Editing is key for these, imo.

The pacing is a bit different, but Sophomore Year is very worth it, in my opinion. Some incredible moments in that season, especially everything to do with Fabian.

Next Dimension20 speculation: It was mentioned on twitter that Brennan's stoat is both a paladin and the mother of Siobhan's and Izzy's characters. So. Odds of a heroic self-sacrifice?

High. In the recent Polygon interview Brennan mentioned that Burrow’s End is inspired by Watership Down in both character theme and harsh tone. This is very likely going to be another high stakes “play for keeps” season like Crown of Candy or Neverafter.

Starstruck works largely because how how wildly and unfathomably successful the intrepid heroes are against a game that's explicitly a critique of capitalism. Season starts with relatable and devastating weights on all the crew, and they remarkably solve almost all their problems by getting rich quick.

Between the combat and Lou's casino, there was an angel looking over the dice of that game.
