"I want to see what she's in love with."

Somehow didn't notice yall discussing the idle ep lol. I'm sort of split on it overall, at least one of the tracks is just terrible (flip it), the title and eye roll are pretty solid even if they're missing a certain edge that soyeon gets when shes got more control over the whole thing, tall trees is okay but not my taste. On the other hand, I think that one thing that has improved the overall quality of their output in the past has been when they do some stuff like this. It lets them all mess around in a different space then usual and all that jazz.

Yeah, some really good shots there. not a fan of the grain they used though. The rate is too high for the fineness so it looks digital noise. The Youtube compression really hurts that MV too with all the shadows which is unfortunate.

The IVE mv is gorgeous though, goddamn. Gonna have to put together a shot list of my favorites because it's so good.

Its such an interesting dichotomy for me, because like you say the Ive video looks amazing, but in terms of a music video it felt really hit and miss.

For a day with new releases by g-idle, jenny and IVE it's a rough day. IVE's song seems like the best of them, but also has the same problems as most of their other songs where it's just a bit too boring. Feels like it's chasing a Ditto or Cupid trend of slower songs doing well but has 0% of the charm. Also it's kind of strange they're promoting it as 3 Title Tracks when so far 2/3 don't seem to have choreography making it seem like they're actually just b sides.

i really really like Idle but seems about par for collabs with production from outside of the kpop world. disappointing; even the story video for "I want that" feels a bit lifeless. but to be optimistic all of idles output prior was terrific, I'm sure they will get a new EP with soyeon and old frequent producers(hopefully yummytone) out by early next year

Performance vid for new SBS survival show Universe Ticket, it's from the ex Running Man producer that also did LOUD which I think people liked? I feel like the main notable thing about the show is the judging lineup - Hyoyeon, Sejeong, Younha, Adora and Rian, with Yeji and Chaeryeong acting as mentors. There's a few current and former idols among the contestants.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsflziy6ReQ

As for the song itself, it sucks but it's funny how much it's trying to evoke the produce shows signal songs with the video.

They released a new version of an MV for New Dance. Makes the original feel like a stopgap till they were in LA so they could do film the real version inbetween HITC and KCON.

The Chuu release was interesting, I think the song is much better than most releases that go for this style. I'm not sure what exactly why this ones more effective than others, but its a nice light listen.

oh hell yeah, instantly up there as one of their best in a really strong discography. they also said they're already working on the next release. MV is gorgeous too, loving this more cinematic trend.

Lightsum finally back too. Really wish they had stuck with the sound they had with Vivace but this is ok. Kinda has Billlie vibes mixed with girlcrush which is kinda cool.

I low-key hate tripleS. They have great members, good music, good videos/choreo, all shackled to their weird nft/rotating member/subunit bullshit.

I thought it was funny recently when TripleS had 4 members in the Phillipines performing for a blockchain event, 8 on the way to the US for the tour, and then 4 in Korea. Even then I saw comments from Phillipines fans asking why others didn't come to perform. Seems like once they have 24 members it'd be tricky balancing sub-unit tours in a way that keeps fans and members happy.

I was super skeptical of TripleS as a concept, and the NFT stuff is dumb as hell for all the reasons any blockchain bs is (though apparently the girls get direct % of sales so guaranteed income from the rubes), but I’ve been really impressed with how well they’ve pulled off everything this year. It’s crazy that they have songs written and chroeod for 4, 8, or 10 member units so far but perform them in any configuration and mix. The rotating units giving the girls breaks is good too. Smart stuff. The first OT24 release is going to be something
