The last two times Israel got in a fistfight with Lebanon they lost immediately and went and beat up on Gaza to take out their frustration. Lebanon is the country that forgot about tactical nuke quantities of fertilizer and blew a hole in their own city. Israel is a country that has come to depend on being able to cow opponents by dropping bombs on apartment buildings and runs away from any opponent they can't do that to.
