Now, searching for keywords about the fighting in Israel just turns up Reply Guys and blue check hashtag spammers. lol you don't even need complex current events to see how bad it is now, recently there has been a sports event on an island here where someone drowned. all the mainstream news outlet reported about it, even on their twitter accounts. but if you searched on twitter you'd get a ton of spam about holidaying there, posts from 8 years back, and you could barely get any of those news accounts. facebook used to be good for news as well but it took a nosedive in the last 5-8 years where searching gets you groups and pages that are barely related to your search term
