What's funny is the post Elon is responding to is saying "they did slavery WORSE!" and Elon, the big brain he is, replies with "ACTUALLY EVERYONE WAS SLAVING!" which actually makes it sound like he's defending the native Americans. I know he isn't, but it reads that way.

i think his brilliant idea after someone quietly told him removing blocks would get the app kicked off ios and android was to change blocking to muting, i'm sure it will be rolled out any day now, he wouldn't deny us his genius

I know we're all focusing on the slavery comment here but he's also giving validation to the assertion that native Americans were child-sacrificing cannibals and deserve colonization/death. But his politics remain too complex to ascertain.

I think it's also hilarious that he seems to not know that Europeans were eating mummies in the Victorian era as party favors. And had slaves continents. And stole continents worth of land. And were absolutely wiped out drunk at all times for a majority of their lives. But that's all fine because they were.

it also obfuscates that not all native americans were doing all of those things all of the time, and hiding behind "actually slavery was common place through-out history" elides the distinct nature of the transatlantic slave trade compared to traditional forms like debt slavery or war slavery.
