There are a frustrating number of bush baby videos on Youtube that are titled something like "THIS ANIMAL MAKES A SOUND LIKE A CRYING BABY" and then just don't have it making the sound at all.

Turned out she had a chest infection, so her breath was stinky, but dammit, I cuddled that tiny sad baby all night. Current dog Henry was a deeply traumatised rescue puppy, who, again, we tried to get to sleep in the kitchen. Tl/Dr puppy crying, Pookah crumbling. This time, he was too shy to be cuddled in bed, so I just plonked him in there and basically ignored him, which is what he wanted at the time. 8 years later, and we are super-best friends forever. He likes the rest of my family, but he loves me beyond reason and I love him that much too

A few years back, I was at BugFest at the Cincinnati Museum Center and among the display booths about insects and poo poo was a dude just casually chilling with a cooler and when we got close enough he sat up and asked "Hey, y'all wanna pet a horseshoe crab?" And yeah, the cooler had a horseshoe crab and I got to give it belly scratches.

Horseshoe crabs have various types of eyes on the top and the bottom of their body (some of which have known functions, some which are apparently still a mystery) plus a whole range of photoreceptors along their tail so it would have had the weirdest multi-view of your hand giving it belly scritches

Horses absolutely love sweets. We used to keep a box of sugar lumps in the glove compartment because there was a horse just beside a place we used to go to for forest walks. He got so familiar with us, he'd come sprinting up his field as soon as the car came into sight. My mother keeps a bag of boiled sweets in her golf bag because there are a few ponies who live in a neighbouring field. Apparently when they get a sweetie, the ponies all get this really intense look in their eyes, like they are trying to look down their own heads to understand the deliciousness that is going on in their mouths
