They don't, but at least you'd have a buddy always around to help you feel better about the sneezing.

The concept is that parasitic worms emit immunosuppressive chemicals to survive and have coevolved with humans such that baseline immune function is assuming a background level of immunosuppression and overreacts when you get rid of the worms. Worms cause lots of other horrible problems though, it's more of an avenue for "where should we look for new well tolerated immunosuppressant chemicals?" than "get a worm infestation fix allergies"

Ha! That's wild. It makes a weird kind of sense, but feels like it's in the same family as leeching. But there is a weight loss side effect to consider as well, so let's not be too hasty to dismiss.
