Only you know your family dynamic, but one thing that’s true is (assuming neither of you are in Israel proper which seems fair based on context) that neither of you matter to how this will play out. Your grandmother’s fb posts are probably going into an echo chamber and you probably can’t change her mind. From that place, it’s up to you to decide, if she doesn’t accept redirection from the topic, to placate her or to take a gentle but firm stand. People get really moralistic about this stuff but there’s nothing wrong with placating a powerless elderly relative who you enjoy. And there’s nothing wrong with taking a stand if that’s the way you want to go and if burning the relationship is okay. What’s happening in Israel is unconscionable, but it doesn’t center on you and your small family dynamic is just a whole separate thing. Dti and enjoy your time with family

Evidently knowing that "Palestine" was a name coined by the Romans is supposed to be a gotcha for people defending Israel's "honor". It's very weird, like they think if you don't know that, you can't comment on any of Israel's history intelligently (I did happen to know that but don't see how it's relevant to anything).
