Last night's Babyklok show was just as gloriously stupid as I'd hoped. Best birthday present to myself so far, by far.

I'm going to be entirely worthless at work today. Totally worth it.

I had to google what this even was.

quote:

What is Babyklok?
It is the heavy metal music tour where animated metal band Dethklok performs with actual band that is behind their animated characters and then you add Japanese band Babymetal who pioneered J-pop and heavy metal mashup known as Kawaii metal. And combining these two you get BABYKLOK 2023.

Kinda jealous, that does sound neat.

I use a postwar Singer 99k and 60s Singer 503a. The 99k is my most often used machine. Simple and bulletproof.

Not quite the right thread, but I dunno where else to put it.

My husband went off Prozac about two weeks ago because of a bad interaction and panic and anxiety attacks have been in full swing since then. He decided that checking himself in to a mental health ward at a hospital was the best choice and I'm still here waiting to see if they have a bed here and I hate everything about this.

When it rains it pours, my dad's cancer seems to be getting better, as good as it can, now this. I hope the mental health wing here takes my husbands insurance.

drat that sucks, I'm sorry to hear about that. Glad your husband was able to recognize that he needed help without some kind of tragedy forcing his hand. I would imagine there is almost always a better outcome when an individual is interested enough in their own recovery that they self admit.

I have a fancy Brondell Swash and it's great. Totos don't really add anything over it so just get whichever has the right price and features.

I also have a few bathrooms with $30 unpowered bidets I got from Home Depot. They're also great and imo cold water from the line doesn't feel in any way bad compared to warmed water from a powered bidet. I think people imagine it'll be super cold but it just doesn't feel that way. Your hole ain't got that many nerves.

Speak for yourself but my rear end in a top hat knows the difference with my cold well water.

But yeah I got a brondell CL1500 since June 2021 and I love it.

It's all about tap water temperature.
I'm in VA now, and most of the year tap water is like 80-85f. When I was in Colorado, water temp was in the 60's most of the year.
I'm fine with just tap cold now, but 60f water blasting the devil's onion ring should be treated as an act of terrorism.

Lay down a ton of tarps over every surface in your attic. When they’re done and leave, you just roll the tarps with all the debris poo poo in em to the trash.

So this bout of covid hasn't been too terrible. 24 hours of aches and fatigue, 24 more hours of complete congestion, shivers, more aches and even more fatigue, followed by a baseline of moderate snottiness. No fever, no loss of taste, but I have been stuck with a persistent taste of aspirin in my mouth. Brushing and mouthwash only provide momentary relief, and I haven't taken any aspirin products at all during this.

USJOBS has a couple GS9/11 positions opening up for Command Net (internal UNCLASS) printer techs in Bremerton/Bangor.

Pros: the PNW! Same base as me!
Cons: lol printers (great foot in the door though)

I dont work on this team but I know the guys who do and it's not that bad. They lost people to Booze Allen and promotions not from general hate of the job.

Look if they stop caring about weed and my wife and I do indeed move out there in a couple of years, I'll pester you relentlessly. I'll even give you my old Iron Horse shirt

Going for my CCNA right now though, kinda amazed at how quickly I've progressed in this field after only deciding a year ago to bail on my old career. It's nice looking at older posts in this thread where I was wondering what to do with my career since it was turning into a dead end and some of you pointing me in this direction really paid off. Anyways, thanks for the encouragement all :)

I would think CCNA would be overqualified for Printer Jockey, that's a pretty solid level of understanding fairly specific systems. It's above the scope of what I'm doing right now but I'm studying it anyway since I actually kind of enjoy networking. Yes I am a terrible, terrible nerd now leave me alone I have a D&D campaign to continue working on.
