Kalli posted:I don't think he'll be on the team. His $37m 2025 salary becomes guaranteed if he is. Realistically, that's exactly what they should do but it's not likely. They would just be telling fans to not show up for an entire year and I don't know if that ownership group would be willing to swallow their pride for that to happen.

Their cap is pretty fixable especially when the inevitable increase hits. That defensive line spending though goddamn and McGlinchey of all people. Could've sworn that guy was a turnstile in SF.

He was and still is a turnstile. Have to really give credit to Pete Carrol. Did a hell of a job squeezing every last bit of usefulness out of Russel and still managed to dump him off for an absurd return.

Launch Patton into the sun with Russ Yeah if Paton is there next year he must have photos of Elway and the Walmart boys on Epstein Island or something. McGlinchey was more like a league-average RT than a 'turnstile' on the Niners, but he was definitely stronger in run blocking than pass protection and he's not a good fit for the Broncos because Russ holds onto the ball forever. I don't think he's a terrible player like a lot of Niners fans do, but the team had to get cheaper somewhere on the roster to make up for all the guys they have to pay and he was definitely the odd man out, especially after the offer he got from Denver.

AAAAA! Real Muenster posted:Apparently according to OTC, if the Broncos designate Russ as a post-June 1 cut in 2024, he "just" has a $35,400,000 dead cap hit in 2024 and then would have a pretty hefty hit the next year too of course but it would make it less suicidal to do it. Once they cut Tim Patrick and either extend or re-negotiate like two other guys they'll be under the cap and we can enjoy watching Jarrett Stidham earn his 7m contract. At that point they'll probably be able to have Bryce for a fifth. He will turn into a hall of famer overnight and win 3 rings as a bronco. I will be happy after getting a lobotomy in the part of my brain that knows anything about organized sports.

It also helped that Stafford came in with Cooper Kupp, pre-ACL Odell Beckham, Robert Woods and the defense was also very good. The Broncos got.... Well reception perception always liked Cortland Sutton

Courtland Sutton was great, he just hasn't looked the same since his ACL. Jerry Jeudy always kind of sucked though.
